I have some Amish Beefy Bags - wondering if anyone has any tricks or cool ways of connecting these to the boat?

I've got a pair of Beefy Bags too. I tied them off to my bow eye and then a short rope from the rear of the bag to my stern cleats. I need to add mid cleats to my boat for the bags. Tying them off to the bow takes some of the stabiliztion out of the boat. I've been wondering about incorporating carbiners for fast and easy setup and breakdown. Has onyone else used carbiners?

Jim,

I purchased anodized aluminum carbiners to attach both the tow line to the spring cleat amidship and to the trip/safety line that attaches to the rear cleat on the stern corner. This works very well, and allows you to quickly and easily set up and also store your bags when no in use. I would highly recommend to anyone running bags to consider this set up. Hope this helps.

Tim
Are the carbiners the connection from line to bag or from line to cleat?

Jim,

They connect the tow line to the bag. The the connection to the cleat, I simply tie a loop knot and attach in the same manner as a dock line. When I disconnect the trolling bag, I leave the tow line attached. I hope this clarifies matters. Let me know if it does not, and I may be able to dig up some pictures.

Yep Tim, that's what I thought you were saying. Just wanted to be sure. That's what I had in mind as well. Nice to know it will work like I planned for a change.

I have a beefy bag that I attach to the mid-cleats on my boat. I bought a rope kit from either Bass Pro or Gander and it works great.
