Going to change a few things on the boat this year
you can see it in the :
(EA Gallery 2005) photo#3
..just our old Bayliner Trophy HD, 22Ft

I have two downriggers (corners)...thats all i ever use. (one deep...and usually another for spoons)
4 built in rod holders and also the holders on top (works great for boards but, hard to reach)

I'm thinking just a 2 ft track on the sides... with maybe a dipsey rod holder and a fixed rod holder.
(like pursuit or Tite-lok 70degree angle type for the inline boards)
Never fish more than 5-6 rods... back end of boat is just to small... it does have a nice table, sink and stove!
Anyhow... any reccomendations for simple (as in less expensive) layouts?

A track on the side is a great idea. I have two tracks per side and the flexibility they give you is great. I use the 70 degree holders from Berts for my board rods and have adjustable holders for divers, one, two or three per side. One option you might try is a track each side and a tree type bird holder. These bird holders are pretty new on the scene and offer a removeable alternative to your hard to reach rocket launchers for running boards. Actually just sold my 22 'liner. I ran 12 rods regularly, sometimes up to 14 no problem.

Basic setup, 3 riggers (2 outdowns, 1 chute) 2 divers each side, 2 cores each side, one core down chute.

Could easily add a core or two per side if needed.

Good Luck.

Alan - I'm adding the Pursuit track to the side of my arch this year - probably 2' is about right . something I can put three adjustabel rod holder sin and they can be removed and adjusted as necessary. I'll be talking to Jeff from Pursuit on Saturday - I'll let you know what we come up with.

A&M - I think a track system is an ideal solution to allow you to change from one set up to another quickly. I have set my boat up with the Pursuit Sports products, and what I can tell you or anyone from experience is that you should get as long a track as can fit in the space you have. The reason I say this, is that once you get your track mounted you may find that there is a better set up. This has certainly been the case with the set up on my boat... Although I spent quite a bit of time laying out the setup and discussing it with Jeff at Pursuit Sports, I've found that I have done some tweaking which has dramatically improved the fishability of the boat. Hopefully this provides some insight. Let me know if you have any questions. - Tim
