Matt,

We are going to run it that way this weekend at the EA Outing. Gotta be some way to get BFG to catch a fish on a JPlug. I also am looking forward to getting my siggs embossed flies wet.

I wish I knew that was you at the SU Tourney this spring, I would have said Hi. Thanks again for the files.

Hey Bob
If you want his first fish on a plug to be as memorable as possible, run it down on a double core.

Pat
I have to admit that I don't often run SWR's. I do often run similar length leads on regular rigger rods. One of my favorite presentations when fish are staging in skinny water like they are now is a J-plug with a 75-100' lead behind the ball and ran down to the center point of the water column. If it is 50 FOW I'll run the ball down about 17' and figure that the plug will dive an additional 7-8'. Now my ball is 7-8' higher in the water column than my lure which should be similar to using an SWR. I'd say give it a whirl. You have nothing to lose and it doesn't take long to wrap 20yds of core around an Aqua Fina Special Reserve bottle, cut and tie on a swivel if you don't get the results you want.

That said I always have an SWR onboard which transforms into a 2 color core when I run it out behind a board. Also a deadly rig when the fish are in the upper strata.

side note: my core leaders have evolved from 75' down to 20' over the years.
