Those of you with kids will appreciate this the most, but we all must do our part to get young anglers involved in the sport of salmon fishing. If you need some inspiration check these out, this is a 4 year old (Nate) and 5 year old (Eric) cranking in some fish.

Nate on Wire Diver

Nate on Wire Diver Pt. 2

Eric on a Fish

These are fairly large QuickTime movies so be careful before you click.

My wife will be so happy to see those! She missed her little guys a little too much so it is good to have actual footage of them on so grand an adventure. Who could deny their child such thrills?

If you haven't had kids aboard yet for whatever reason, you are missing out!!! The only thrill that beats fighting a large fish to the boat is watching/helping a youngster do it. Do you think I'll have to drive the streets looking for these boys? They'll be hunting me down to beg to go fishing or showing me the new fly they tied or spoon that they painted etc. If you don't have children, I'll bet you know of at least one kid that you could positively impact their life by taking them fishing.

I'm grateful to our hosts for the weekend that made it all possible. You guys Rock!!!

It was so much fun fishing with Jim's little guys on Sunday. They are so well-behaved and excited just to be out there on the water. And they are real troupers too...no bitching when it's time to reel in the leadcore.

Remember, Eric and Nate:

"We're number 1...We're number 1...Second to none!"

Great footage guys!

My girls are already asking if they can reel in a king when we head up to Manistee on the 19th. I'll be sure to get some pics and footage as well.
