1) "Spandex" Fastrac 2) Green Monkey Puke Spook Raider 3) #5 silver cut plug J 4) Mt Dew Pro-chip w/ 4K aqua blue fly 5) Can't decide... had several spoons that were good for a month or so, but not the entire season. Sister Sledge, Lemon Ice, Bloody Nose, Bloody Death among them as well as a bunch of prototypes that I was playing around with.
1. (50) Fishlander "Hey Baby" spoon on the SWR rigger. Usually run as the deepest line out, this rig was easily the most productive stick on the boat. This rod probably would have caught even more fish, but I broke off the only spoon I had in mid-July and didn't find a replacement until late August.
2. (33) Red 00 dodger & blue/light green tinsel fly, six feet behind a 3/4 oz. in-line weight, behind a planer board. This rig was only run during May and June, for coho.
3. (31) White 0 dodger & little boy blue fly. This setup was run off downriggers, dipsy divers and suspended wire. Among all three presentations, it did best on a Fireline dipsy.
4. (30) Fourth place was a tie between a yellow 0 dodger & glitter aqua fly, and a smoke 0 dodger & little boy blue fly. The yellow/aqua combo is always run on a shallow rigger (40'-50' down) and the smoke/LBB combo was run on riggers, dipsies and suspended wire. BTW, the yellow/aqua combo has statistically been the best bait on my boat over the six years I have been keeping a logbook.
5. (26) Pearl #3 J-Plug on 10 colors of leadcore. The first time this bait was run was July 23rd, and it never came off after that. It made the top 5 list in only 2 1/2 months of use.
The numbers in parenthesis represent the number of times each rig was hit this year.
