We set lines at 5:45am in 65' fow just North of the pier. We just finished setting our 8th rod in the dark and a dipsy popped starting a pretty good string of fish. We trolled with the waves (North) and that seemed to be most productive. We finished catching by 9:30 and fishing about 10:30 ending 9 for 11, 8 kings and one steelhead. For me I should just leave the flashers and flies and spoons home. We got one on a Moonshine NightCrawler the rest came on a mix of green glow plugs. Aces High, Js and Lymans with no one being that much better than the other. The biggest one we had on was about 12#s (lost it at the net)with most being 7-10#s.I talked with the fish biologist at the dock and he said the biggest one he had seen was 15 something. With a 160 views on my (the last) post out of St Joe two weeks ago, I was wondering why no one else puts a report up? Anyone else on this site fish down here? Good Luck!

Troy, thanks for your comments. I am going to St. Joe for the first time this weekend. I just bought my first set of poles and reels and a planer board. I picked up 4 different spoons recommended by the sales guy who fishes there as well, but it is always nice to hear what others are using. Congratulations on your success. I only hope mine is half as productive.

Chuck,
Hope you had some good luck! I'm pretty well done for this year due to baby #2 coming mid Oct., but if you're interested in going out on my boat sometime shoot me an email at <tmhandrich@yahoo.com> . I'm no pro, but I have a well equipped 18' Lund that I do pretty well on. It's always fun to have someone on the boat that is "hooked".
