Is it better to store the boat ( equipped with an I/O) with the outdrive up or down?? I know it looks like there is more "strain" on the boot when it is up.
Best,

As far down as you can get without scraping the skeg on the ground. Take into account that your tires may loose some air over the storage period causing the boat to lower some.

Your correct, storing the outdrive in the down position takes the stress off the boot but you'll want to inspect the boot before launhing in the Spring for cracks and leaks. The down position also drains any excess water from the outdrive. If you fill the block with a 50/50 (by volume) of antifreeze, this will pass through the outdrive as well.
