Started with spoons 30-40' back with 1 oz inline in 15 fow between beach and wall, many silver bass. Worked out to the end of the RR channel in 21 fow, nothing. Came back along the channel to 15 fow got 1 eye just before we swung back to the north. Tried throwing worms, nothing. Then pulled deep lil rippers 30-35' back and trolled north and east past Brestbay marina getting eyes and some silver bass and a smallmouth. Think I might have been too deep with the spoons. Oh, speed most of the day was 1.8 - 2.2

Hey Lipripper-

Sorry for the questions. How many eyes total? How dirty was the water? How many guys? Why the 1oz. weight?
Big fish? Thanks for the report. Hope to be out a couple of times over the holiday.

Water was very clear, three guys, 5 eyes total but we had to quit just after we started getting them. The 1 oz weight was just to get the spoons down, rigged a lot like the weapon but with a spoon, something new to me so I tried it. Don't have a feel for the depth with that yet. Water was 57º. Going this morning, think I will try Bolles first, heard they were doing pretty good around the sail buoys and the dumping grounds.

Oh I got it! No dipsys. That's why the weight. I usually pull Big Jon Mini discs (dipsys) to get the spoons down. 5 - 6 ft leader from the dipsy to the spoon. This has worked well for a lot of the guys. I read reports on a couple of other sites that the dumping grounds were giving up good numbers in 14 - 18 Feet of water. Good luck partner!
