I just want to say to a lot of the guys out there both new and old that one way to gain a lot of knowledge in a hurry is to book a charter. I go every year with the guys from work and we have a blast! Six men to a boat puts the price at about $75 a person. Tipping the mate brings it to about $85. Some guys can spend years and years and tens of thousands of dollars trying to figure what one can learn in an afternoon charter! We have anywhere from 18 - 30 guys go each year and I always learn something! I've always let everyone know that this is sometimes the BEST $85 dollars I spend each year! I get the latest techniques, where they're at, what they're using from guys who fish everyday on the lake for a living. Can't beat it!!!! Try it!!!

I've also done salmon charters, Sailfish/Swordfish/Marlin and general anything in the deep sea charters! I love the ocean fishing.

It's also nice to have a day where not only do I not worry about the boat but also the equipment and the work!!!

Well said Steve...and if any of you want to go on a drifting charter for walleyes, I have two contacts that I trust 100% in Ohio water.

There were A LOT of conversations about "Wormers" on the Draggin' Flies last week...most of which started like...

"Damn...that guy came pretty close to us on the run..."

and then proceeded to go like this...

"what's he doing...going right in front of us???"

to then hear...

"DAMN WORMER SET UP TO DRIFT RIGHT IN OUR PATH AGAIN CLARK!!!"

I used worms sometimes when the lake was flat and the trolling slow with the fish on the bottom. I gave them up when the gobies were bad about ten years ago. They never let the worm get more than a few feet down before they hit it. Now that some of the predator fish are finally eating some of the gobies and the goby numbers aren't anywhere near where they were a few years ago, worms aren't that bad, just expensive and messy. I have some buddies who transfer the worms to the paper worm bedding but it is still messy at the house transferring them and they don't live as long in the bedding. On top of that You always have worms in your fridge. A little smelly! They do work! Also you troll slower with them so you cover less water and go over less fish and they pick up more junk fish.
