I got up early this morning Mike (7:30) but couldn't post until 12:30. Storms went through N. Oakland county last night for almost 2 hours and I had no internet service until now.

Where to start? We lost an hour and a half in an I-75 traffic jam. All 3 lanes not moving so we bailed and took U.S. 24 through Monroe to TBM. The game plan was leave Marina before 4 and have lines in the water maybe 4:40 out by WS island. Went out with Little Dandy and Big Bill on the Cantgetenough. Everyone we talked to said fishing was bad. No one getting them. Charters doing poorly. Didn't sound too promising. Due to the traffic tie - up we didn't get the first line out until 6:05 and Mike had a fish hit it in his hand as he was putting it in the clip! We caught 9 in an hour and 20 minutes. 2 ft. chop and overcast sky. Then suddenly the lake got flat and the sky went clear blue. The fishing slowed but we kept plucking them. We finished with 17, Just one shy of the 3 man Ohio limit in a little less than 4 hours. We stayed about 40 minutes past dark and got a couple after dark. Then the mayflies hit! Boy what a mess! 2nd worst I've ever seen! No wonder the fishing slowed! Same program - 70 ft. on the port boards and 80 on the starboard. The moonshine glow spoons worked well again after 9:30 taking 3 - 4 walleye. The hot spoons were: Kevorkian circus freak, Green slick, Green Huckleberry, Moldy Muffin, Moonshine anything after 9:30.

The mayflies got on the dipsys so thick it affected the aerodynamics or in this case, the hydrodynamics. Large baseball sized globs kept the discs from running right & Diving properly.

Man what a mayfly mess! Boy, do I gotta clean the boat! That traffic jam cost us probably 10 fish! We woulda been closer to 30 fish if we hadn't run into the I-75 parking lot!

The fish: One was 15 1/2 and the rest 18 - 23 inches.

Thanks for a great trip again Steve. That late night/early morning finish sure made for a long day yesterday. Too bad the radio traffic reports didn't pick up on the problem. We could have easily avoided getting caught up in it had we know what was up..

Cantgetenough & LittleDandy -

I drive from Windsor to Monroe each day. Douggun has my cell number, call anytime for a traffic report. I may be able to help.

I say this because we didn't catch anything Saturday morning. I have no good fishing report, so will try and offset with the good traffic reporting! Ha!

Mayfly hatch overnight was huge. I didn't see a single Walleye get taken from any boat. Fished from 7:30am to 12:15pm. Wads of mayflies on the dipsy's were VERY common.

We were N of W Sister, then W. of West Sister, then just east of McDonalds as a last try. NADA!

Marked the most fish just North of W sister.

Thanx for traffic info offer Peaser! We'll take you up on it if we're trying to get the last few hours of the day for fishing again! Slow Sunday midday for me too. I will post.
