This thread discusses the Content article: Invasive species eat at Great Lakes shipping

Interesting about the economics, although I fear the ignorance projected by an experienced charter captain who claims to have seen no adverse effects from invasive because his charter bookings are good or that his boat hasn't broken from zebra mussels.

Hopefully that isn't exactly what he said and it just came out that way through the reporter.

Hopefully the reporter picked and chose certain parts of the interview to get the story here. For anyone in the fishing industry to assume that invasives dont have an impact is a bit nearsighted. The article is interesting and I am sure there will be several followup surveys to come up with a solution.

Thanks for posting that article. Very good read, even though I think there are some agendas at work there.

If the Port of Toledo was closed....it would surely hurt the local economy around here in a BIG way...
