I will have an opportunity to fish Lake Ontario this year and couldn't be happier!! A 30+ king will do wonders for the heart!! Can't wait!! Will be over there around the middle of July......Is that a good time to be in the water??
Best,

Chip...

since no one has answered you yet...I just want to say that ANYTIME in the summer is a GREAT TIME to be out on Lake Ontario! (with the exception of some fierce wind days...but we don't get too many of those in July)

The king fishing might not be at peak in July, but we've had some great days in our area - out of Sodus Bay. We caught some decent "teenagers" ...bigger fish coming in August for us....our biggest catch was 29 lb. 8 oz.

There are some very good fishing grounds on Lake Ontario...and I'm sure you can get lots of advice from others here to make sure you have success.

If you're out in our area...give us a shout...every weekend...

Thanks so much for the reply....I'll be fishing with a guy who has alot of experience over there, Roy Aldous (RAC Spoons). He's invited me for a week or so on his boat so I don't even have to trailer mine
If we are in your area I'll give you a shout!! I can't wait.........
Thanks again, Best,

fishing july is very different it depends on where you are fishing and what you are fishing forit would be best if you locate some one where you are fishing to see whats hot and where.

Thanks Julius, I'm not really sure what part of the lake we'll target right now. I'm sure we'll be asking for alot of input from the locals in whatever area we decide to fish. One great thing about salmon fishermen that I've learned.....most are more thatn eager to help and offer advice!! Which port do you find best?
Thanks,

Took me a while but I found you all. July is fine time for LO. Biggest beasts are in August however. Lil'Ceaser I'm fishing out of Fair Haven.
A+M I'm thinking April 30/May1 might be a good weekend for a Sodus/FairHaven Brown fishing weekend. I'll E-mail Garry and Todd Keeling and see if they can make it.

Werner, sounds good to us... can't wait! Haven't tried going east in the spring but sure, ...we'll head in the direction. Probably going for the Simrad AP in April so, if the weather is OK and I get the boat back together by then, LOL.
