We were also discussing the Flasher/Fly combo we think will be most successful in 2007...

My choice:

I have to stick with my 2006 favorite fly...Rapture Lime Green Hypnotist...and pair it up with a 10" Chrome/Dark Green Spin Doctor.

Tom

I'm going to go out on a limb and say an 8" blue bubble/slick glow spin doctor with a KRW blue dynamite fly.

I'm going to predict a comeback for the top in 2005 - and go with

4K Mirage Fly - Blue Blade Dbl. Crush Glow 8" Spin Doctor (may substitute Dbl. Pearl version depending on conditions)

My top flasher/fly was a WHite Inticer followed by a WHite Atommik fly.

A close second was a green SPin Doctor with Green Attomik fly.

I would go with the green E-chip with a green fly or green glow fly ( don't care who makes it) and 2nd choice would be a white E-chip with a Plovie fly( by Purple Taco) and 3rd would be the Blue Spin Doctor with the Blue Bubble fly. In the meat rig dept. I would go with the proven Black Mamba or King Crimson flasher and red meathead. I have heard a lot of good stuff about the ultra glow flashers for meat and some of the new crystal killers , should probably pick a few up and give them a try.

although my fly bite was off a bit last year in mid summer, my late summer king rig had to be dominated by an 8" Blue clear blade with crush glow SD with a SeaMist horse fly. Although I had a small group of regulars that are listed in top 5 FF rigs of the year thread.

I'll have to agree with whaler....
###1 Rapture Hypnotist LG with 10" richards green Spinn Doctor. I had 3 of these in the water at all times from may-october!

#2..The Big luhr jensen with the Rapture Little Bride..3 years ago we caught over 120 fish on the same fly!! The only thing we changed was leader and hooks.

#3..ONLY because I came up with the combination in late AUG. was the NEW Rapture "Last Supper"..with any blade!!! Works really well with the blue or green fireworks SD. I can see this one passing the Hpnotist in 07!

#1 meat by far....Black mamba kingfisher 2 with the BIG Weenie crushed glow RED meat rig or the Big Dog Red bead rig.

I am going to say the best was probably The 8" Spin Doctor Green Dbl. Pearl Glow #70351 with a Liquid Sunshine Action Fly, but it was close with the Blue Chrome with blue holo tape 8" Spin Doctor #70904 and a Blue Bubble Action Fly. That was good rain or shine!!

Salmon Slammer - in the interest of full disclosure are you the manufacturer of the Slammin Fly?

Did we meet you at the Grand Rapids show?

Welcome aboard!

I dont know why but on my boat I think it will be a big weenie fly.Just a feeling though. I made a couple new ones with some yellow in them because that seemed to be the big thing with the water getting clearer.I also talked to a 30 year charter guy on Lake O who now puts 1 yellow bead in front of every fly he runs. The hammer fly also is a powder blue fly with yellow in it and that was smokin last year. So I am hoping the new fly I have will be hot, it looks good but who knows what will happen this year.I should send them to the EA field testers.
