was reading a Post and Found out that they Might Be banning Herring because they are on the List.Just because they are Frozen the can still put in Viral hemorrhagic septicemia (VHS).The bann is all ready starting in Wisconsin.Baitstores are coming up with a List and Might not be selling "Frozen Herring" anymore for Fishing the Great Lakes.This deserves some more Looking into.See what You Fisherman can Find Out. Here are some articles about it.I heard about not transporting Fish accross State Lines and All,but if the Frozen Herring is on the List it Might Be Over unless We can get some Adlewives or goto Berkley Gulp Power Bait!

Here is where the Herring is listed on this artical,I dont Know if it is Saltwater or Freshwater,but You know the DNR'S go by the Name.

Yeah I have heard about this as well as a potential development in the control of VHS.

Some of the bait manufactureres are going to have to be certified VHS free by the USDA perhaps - just like the live bait guys are going to have to do.

Otherwise get your cast net ready - going to have to catch some alewives to keep you bait running habit alive.

There is a test for the baits that will allow people to sell it. Unless they stop everything from moving from lake to lake this isnt going to do alot of good. Birds, fish etc.I have a line on some FAKE baits that looks very promising and will pass along for testing. Also with the new heads coming out alewives will be awesome anyway and cheaper. Did just talk to a guy today in Ill who said his fish were full of 4 inch perch. I wonder if perch for bait is legal,lol.I heard familar bite was catching alewives in Lake O and selling everywhere and they stoped that for now. Anything I hear I will pass along.
