I use whatever hooks the mfg puts on them until they are no longer servicable (usually break them after a while shaking off fish with pliers). Then replace them with something comparable in a premium brand/style.

BFG, maybe we can set out a program of walleye spoons sometime with identical spoons on each side of the boat except one side with trebs & the other with singles. Do a little catch & release marathon and keep track. You up for it? Would be good to have a crew of 4 for this.

Absolutely Mike...and I agree...it would be good to have 4 on the boat to run 4 rods per side...three off the big boards and a diver per side.

I'm not 100% confident in the singles that I purchased (VMC if I remember correctly) as to a comparison with the weight of the size 4 trebles that typically come with walleye spoons. I'll bring one in to w%#@ and compare the weight of it to that of the walleye spoon treble.

Would make for a great experiment...and hey..maybe you can write off the 50 gallons of fuel we'd use over the course of the day as a "R&D Expense??"

lol
