Fair Haven Challenge to be held August25th now has some new twists. Besides our 1,2,3rd prize and Big fish We also have $50 each to 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th ande Big Fish from A-Tom-Mik Manufacturing.

Also all boats pre registered by the August 14th mail in deadline are entered in a drawing for a $50.00 gift certificate to Screwy Louies. You can be registered at any of the 3 locations; Screwy Louies, Anchor Resort and Marina, or mail in thru captain@popeyesportfishing.com.

We will also be drawing from all entry tickets recieved at the weigh in a $100.00 gas gift certificate to Anchor Resort and Marina. Must be present at time of drawing to win. Drawing to be held at cerimonys.

Rules are as follows;
Rules and Regulations
1. This derby shall commence on August 25, 2007 at 6:00 a.m. and conclude on August 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
2. The eligible fish species are Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Brown Trout, Steelhead, Lake Trout, and Atlantic Salmon. Only 6 fish may be entered, any fish may be released immediately when caught but MAY NOT BE RELEASED once the fish has been added to the “cooler”. A maximum of 3 Lake Trout may be entered.
3. All winners must be present to receive prizes.
4. Participants must be officially registered by August 24, 2007.
5. Participants may purchase a $10.00 Big Fish Pool ticket that is available for the 2007 tournament and must also be purchased before August 24, 2007.
6. All fishing must be in Lake Ontario, its harbors. Participants shall abide by the fishing regulations of the Department of Transport Small Boat Safety Regulations, and all Municipal by-laws, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
7. Any participant not abiding by these rules shall be punished by automatic forfeiture of the Tournament.
8. All fish must be weighed in at Screwy Louie’s Sport Shop, Fair Haven NY.
9. All fish entered must be legally hooked on legal angling tackle
10. All participants shall present their Tournament tickets when weighing in their fish. NO EXCEPTIONS. All entries must be at the weight station no later that 3:00PM. A participant may weigh-in fish in other derbies depending on other derby/tournament rules and regulations.
11. All data recorded by the weigh master on the official weigh-in form shall be final. The weigh master may take a length and girth measurement if he/she deems it necessary.
12.Winner will be determined by a point system with 10 points per fish, and 1 point per pound. The five biggest fish of your 6 entered will be used to determine standings; the sixth fish will only be used as a tiebreaker in the event of a points tie. If there are any disputes, the participants shall abide by the final decision of the derby judges.
13. Participants of this derby compete at their own risk.
14. All prizewinners shall be responsible for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, which are applicable to the prize(s) won.
15. Each participant, by paying the entry fee, acknowledges that he/she has read, understands and will abide by the rules of this derby, and agrees that failure to comply with any of the rules will result in immediate disqualification, forfeiture of all prizes.
16. In the event that the tournament should be canceled due to small craft advisory prior to the 6am start time, the event will be held on the 26th of August.

Anglers from many areas have come together for this event. It is open to the public. Entry fee is $50.00 per boat and must be entered prior to event at Screwy Louie’s, Anchor Resort or by mail. Pay out will be 100% to the first three places. Big fish pool tickets @ $10 per boat are also available. For info call Werner @ (570)296-4978

1) 5th place finish $50 cash

4) 20th place finish $50 product
(if there isn't 20 teams then last place)
$50 cash for big fish

Our latest added sponsors include Great Lakes Angler Magazine and Pro-Troll. There will be lots of great prizes to be had this year. Also there will be a cook out at the weigh in sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.

Sorry for the delayed information but a $100.00 gas certificate for Anchor Resort was added to the early Bird prize along with the $50.00 gift certificate to Screwy Louie's. We have 18 boats that were registered by the 14th and are entered in that drawing. You must be present at the event to win. See you all there.
