Hit muskegon with Lori Monday morning and pulled 3 of 4 fish out of the mud in a short morning run. All big brownies. Flasher/ Fly rigs did all the work, with many colors working. Highlight was having a double on inside the outer arms being surrounded by boats, running on auto after the second fish was on and landing them both with no tangles. Then after deciding to work in towards the dock for some breakfast, pulling a 17 pounder off the sand docks in muskgeon lake and watching the midgit do battle on the 7' talora with 30# line. Everything went perfect and she masterfully handled the rod to bring the fish to net. it was cool.
Monday night I had crawdad and his wife and my nephew aboard for Grant's first fishing trip. We fished the mud again staying close in case the 3 year old attention span was too short. We managed one more big darky that Granty helped dad reel in. That was pretty cool as well. Flasher/ fly rig just outside the piers again.
Tuesday morning the 4th I had a trip with 5 crew aboard. We set up by the coast guard station and trolled in and out and in front of the piers. We pulled two different fish as singles then had a triple. All bites were FF rigs except one on a pearl tomic. We only landed one of the 3 on the triple, but it was good anyway. After the bite seemed to die, we pulled and ran to the north nets in 130 fow and set a north troll. action picked right up pulling a nice king from 100 down on big blue. Tomics on the full and half core scored as did Nailers on divers, core and deep riggers. We finished the day 10 for 15 with a nice bag of lakers, steel and kings.

Salmonhead - When you say "big brownies", are you referring to colored up Kings or actual Brown Trout?

Dark Kings. Although a buddy down the dock did catch a 7 and 9# brown trout on Saturday in 30-60 fow north of port.
