The Michigan DNR is accepting input on a proposal to allow anglers to use 3 rods statewide. Now might be the best opportunity to get 3 rods per angler when fishing Michigan waters of Lake Erie.

FAQ at:
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnr/Three-lines-FAQ_232625_7.pdf

Email address for input:
DNR-Fish-3lines@Michigan.gov

I'm not sure how this would work out for pier guys, but for those of us that are primarily great lakes trollers, I see this as a big positive.

Mich went to 3 rods per license a couple of years ago for the trollers.

Only on Lakes Michigan, Huron, and Superior and only when trolling specifically for trout and salmon.

The current rules for Lake Erie are maximum of 2 rods per angler in Michigan waters. Ohio waters of Lake Erie are also 2 rods per angler.

I see that Wisconsin allows 3 rods. I assume that's anywhere in the state. Any issues?

Thank you for your input, Coz.

Indiana, do you have any issues with 3 rods?
