The Michigan DNR is accepting input on a proposal to allow anglers to use 3 rods statewide. Now might be the best opportunity to get 3 rods per angler when fishing Michigan waters of Lake Erie.
Hal,IF trolling is allowed its 3 lines. Most of the inland lakes are not allowed for trolling.Sometimes figurin if you can troll or not is another story. The way the word the rulebook sometimes is not the most clear.

Good luck getting Ohio to follow suit on that one. I got absolutely CREAMED on Ohiogamefishing for suggesting that OH should consider three rods per angler...
Basically got called things like..."poacher" "gamehog" "glutton", etc. etc.

I am all for the new change going into effect. I think some people don't understand, that the limit of rods is changing, but the limit of fish is the same. So getting called a poacher is a bit much. I look forward to upgrading some new gear, and putting out a larger spread to catch these fish.
I ran into a situation in Tawas this last summer. I wanted to troll for walleye, but started catching steelhead. So I put out our 2 man 6 rods for trout. I think that it will end any confusion on how many you have to run. I was legal at 6, but the minute I put a walleye in the boat, which I never did, it would've been illegal.
