The forecast was light west winds 5 - 10 mph. Little Dandy, Katydid (My friend Keith) and myself lauched at Sterling and started trolling about 4:30 p.m., We got ESE at 5 - 10. Sunshine and 70 degrees. Pretty nice. The lake was a little slow in the afternoon as a result for us. We got nine fish total on dipsys and spoons in the bay. Lots of dirty water. It cleaned up some as the evening went along. Dipsys caught fish from 45 - 60 ft behind the planar boards. The Mixed veggie took 4 fish, the green slick and Kevorkian circus freak took a couple each. 1 5lb., 2 4 lb. 2 3lb. and 4 fish about 2 lbs. One dink, and 50 trillion silver fish. No sheep. The wind finally turned southwesterly about a half hour from dark but it was so nice we fished an hour past dark until 10:45. We caught two walleye after dark on spoons, 1 mixed veggies and 1 green slick. 16 - 22 ft of depth all produced walleyes as we looked for green fishable water in the changing conditions. Clark - That goose jerky is the best!!!! Thank you LD for bringing it!

Keith (Katydid) eating the Goose Jerky & bringing in the big fish!

And a walleye coming into the boat and eventually the cooler!

Tight lines everyone !!!!!

We should probably add a handfull of glow baits for these afternoon trips that end up turning into night fishing.

WE've used the moonshine lures before....the glow pretty good and they can be found at mathews bait and tackle....

always worth a shot...we ran em on one side and ran stingers on the other and they kept up to the stingers about 1 to 1 for the eyes...

Thanks Corey, We'll pick some up from there. LD says they're a good source of info at Mattews bait too! I've been in there a few times over the last 30 years! Sometimes I get my Ohio lic. there. Lately I've been getting it at Toledo beach.

I thought you might like to see what was biting out by West Sister.

We fished 46 and 09. Took 27 walleye and 1 steelhead. Fished half big reef runners and 20 jets and spoons. The spoons were better but the Reefs took bigger fish. The Cat/Dog in the reef and spoon was good. As was the Mi-Hi and Mixed Veggies. Fished the reefs back 80 and jets back 90. It was a slow troll 1.8-2.0mph.

Glad to hear you guys enjoyed the goose sticks. Trust me..I have PLENTY more...and once those are gone, I'll get another batch done. Takes about 3 days from start to finish at the butcher shop.

Maybe I'll have him spice 'em up a bit...

Congrats on the fish to all of you. I'm jealous!!

Wow - way to go Tacklemaster! Were those charter results? How many guys? A.m. or P.m.? We usually try to fish Michigan in the spring. If it stays cool we have fish here most of the summer. If it gets hot we end up out by West sister because most of the fish move deeper in the hot weather. With gas prices as they are we are reluctant to drive the 17 miles out there but a haul like that makes it worthwhile!
