Sweet fish Paulie! I bet that was a scrap and a half. What did you use for bait?

Live bluegills for bait. the 4-5" ones are the best, but they will take them larger like 7-8" so far also.
its really quite the cycle at the boat dock... eerrrgghh I mean, my secret fishing spot.....

dock boat, get the bluegill/ bait rods out, catch live gill, place on hook for the cat rod, deploy and wait. Lots of time to consume beverages and/ clean the boat and organize tackle. wait for clicker to make noise. the trick is to let them run till they stop, then once they start going again give them a count of about 10 and let em have it. My landing percentage has gone way up this year. The 2008 season total so far is 5 flatheads, 2 sheepies, one northern and 3 dogfish, all caught on live gills.

Clarky, I am not skinny, I am one mean roofin machine and cat killer as well. Although this cat did not die, he is swimming in a secret spot now.

That sounds like my favorite pike fishing program. Catch a suitable sized bluegill or perch, hook it under the dorsal and place a large bobber above it. It's fun to watch the bobber swim around in slow circles and suddenly get frantic before coming to a dead stop at the bait's last ditch attempt to "play dead". When the wolf strikes, the bobber will sometimes streak along the surface before going under. Other times it plunges straight down. Before long the bobber pops back up on the surface like the barrels on Jaws. "He can't stay down, not with 2 barrels on him! Not with 2 he can't.".
When it starts to move again I close the bail, wind up the slack and let em have it with the hookset.

Nice catch Paulie. However, I know you are misleading us all on the program that produced that cat... Give us the truth, it had to be on a nailer #19 prototype w/ an extra black dot fished behind a 21 color core under cloudy skies!
