The trout do no how to hide on tourney days. Last year we were getting 6 to 8 trout a trip in our king spread at the SH tourney. We felt real confident in getting our 12 fish. Come tourney morning we got 2 lakers real quick and had 11 fish at 9 am. You would think with 4 hrs of fishing you could get 1 more trout. NOPE. Day two only 1 trout. This year we had little confidence in boxing our trout. Of corse pre-fishing we got some lakers weighing as much as 16 pounds. We only got 1 trout during the tourney. In your 9 and 3 tourneys its always the difference, but thats good. Makes you become a better fisherman. We saw you fishing North Friday Skip, we ran buy you around 1 o'clock from out deep. Looked like you had the nice relaxing north troll going. Sure was fun catching lots of fish. The outcome you have in a tourney is minor compared to the enjoyment you get from fishing for 4 or 5 days in a row.

I agree with you about the fact that the outcome isnt the end of the world.

I love the excitemet and the intensity of the tournys but the real payoff is just being out there making it happen no matter what the outcome. Luck plays a big role in tournys and some days you don't have it.

Yea, on Friday we were just searching and we got on a good troll with the waves in 120 and followed it all the way to 180 and hit the kings hard. By then we were limited on kings and fished for trout on the way back.

Took a real nice laker and a steelie....but couldn't do that to save my butt on Sat/Sun....

See ya on the water!

That Green/Glow Revelator with Green Ghost Purple Taco fly took fish again in the Ludington tourny (fishing Dave's boat).

We also got hot on Sunday on the Black/Glow Fishcatcher with a Mirage fly.

The Green/Glow Revelator has been my most consistant combo this year, especally on overcast days.
