Way to go Matt! You're in the running for Father of the Year! I can't wait until my little guys are old enough to go more often.

Jim,

Tell that to my wife, she had a different title for me. The boy is a straight a student and we have never done that before. He also helps me when I need a hand tying flies. He really got a kick out of catching fish when he should have been in school. How old are your kids. I am sure when they get older they will be your best fishing partners.

I took a co-worker and his son up to Ludington last year on a school day. Same deal, he was an A student and all around good kid so why not reward him with a little "time with the men". I told him that the biggest fish he caught looked about 4 ounces bigger than his dad's. You should have seen his chest puff up. I hear that he still gives the old man heck about his fish being 4 ounces bigger a year later.

My boys are 4,5 and 8. I look forward to many years out there with them. I just pray that they will enjoy it half as much as I do.

I can see a team Athey in the making. I am on the same page as you hoping the kids will grow to love the sport like I do. When I was a kid I was not able to go like my boys are and I would do anything for the chance to go. Sometimes I think with the ability to go anytime they want they may take it for granted. As long as they enjoy going I will keep taking them.
