How's it going? I figure it's about time to get a couple RR's ordered up - beat the spring rush. Think I should go with the heavier or lighter model? Thinking about just my downriggers - still run tweaked directionla pancakes for the siderigger- what ya think.

Greg , I run of the 9 pound rattlers down the middle and pancakes or fish weights on the outdowns. I like to get the out downs to pull out a little with the bent fin . My out downs are 12 pounds and the 9 pound rattlers don't blow back as far as the outdowns unless I have them a lot deeper.Chip can tell you more as far as best ones to run.

yeah I would guess that probably takes some hammering to bend one of those fish tails - are you running the black ones or the hammered silver looking ones?

I fished on the Purple Taco pro team this year in the GLPAA tournaments and we used the chrome fish weights{ along with the Ridgebacks} on the tournament boat this year , I have the black ones but I think the chrome does a better job and may buy the chrome this winter , need a 2nd mortgage for the chrome ones. Did paint one of my pancake weights with " chrome bumper" paint late this season , seemed to work pretty well but didn't run it enough to know for sure if it will last and if it catch's more fish or just coincidence. As you can tell , I like to play around and expieriment with a lot of stuff , sometimes it works and sometimes it don't.

Yeah I was going to buy a couple of those hammered ones but just coukldn't bring myself to do it - so I bought another bunch of Spin Doctors and flies - got to have priorities. I don't expirement enough - only been trolling for Salmon on Lake Michigan for two seasons ... had to learn a few new things on the transition fom Huron.

Hey you two, looks like you've been having all kinds of fun without me!!! Of course you DO know that there is a deer season here in Michigan.........us multi-faceted people dabble in everything!!! LOL Greg, Rick has given some very good advice, he has been on a few different boats running the Ridgebacks. With not really knowing your fishing style, but know you fish out of Ludington alot, I would suggest the 9# Ridgebacks as they truly cover alot of territory. I usually run a combination of 7# and 9# when I run different depths......(but I know the guy that makes 'em--ha). SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH........don't let this get out but, if you order now, I'll throw in a niffty proto-type model that I need some feedback on!!! I've been working on a new idea and the proto-types are just about ready. And I even have a secert weapon "pink" model proto-type I'm trying to find a home for..really!! Best, Chip Greene, Ridgeback Rattler Downrigger Weights

ok I'm ready to order - should I do it on your site or what? I might pass on the pink one - all thought you may want to try to move it on the Ladies Forum. Oh boy now I'm in trouble!!!!

Hey wait a minute , pink has been a good color for me , pink alwive , watermelon , glo-snow cone , all have shades of pink in them. Nothing wrong with thinking pink! The mere conversation that having pink rattlers would bring would be worth the trouble , you know , having a big ole musky bait hanging on you rods when you come in with a box of fish and having the pink Rattlers hanging on the riggers and tell everyone you went to Wis. to fish.

I will give Jen credit - she is one the best natural lure pickers - maybe it's because it would make good jewelery. Oppppppssssss - her secret is out. Even bigger trouble now.

Hey Greg, thanks for helping me get back to the site!!! Tell you what, if you'll go to the Ridgeback Rattler Wesite and order using the credit card, it would be great!! You'll be the guinea pig as we just added the buy with credit card feature........you can help me work out the bugs if any. Are you sure you don't want to test a PINK proto-type? It has some neat do-dads on it too........ Rick, you are correct, pink has always been good to me too!!! Best.........
