Fished the Manty Salmon Derby this last weekend. Saturday I fished the Super Derby with Willie Bee and we ended up 7th out of 36 boats.

Sunday and Monday I fished with Josh from Red Hook Tackle. We did pretty well for ourselves bringing in a cooler of roughly 180 lbs on Sunday with 14 kings and a brown.

On Monday we waited out the storms and finally got out around 5:30 or so. We hit the same spot as Saturday and could only boat 1 fish, so we decided to go after browns since that category only had a 13.8 pound fish in the lead. We got to the spot I like to fish for browns and in short order we hooked up with one that weighed in at 13.0 lbs even. Good enough for 3rd. Our fish was an inch and a half longer than the leader but just didn't have the girth. We also picked up 13 kings and a bow before pulling lines at 11:00 for final weigh in.

It was a great weekend for fishing and I thank Willie Bee and Josh for taking me out. It kept me from having to pack, unpack and clean my own boat each day. haha Also congrats to all winners......job well done. I would also like to commend all fisherpeople for the courteous and selfless attitudes this weekend. I didn't hear of anyone complaining of uncourteous drivers.
