here's a quickie. Was out trolling about 5 miles north of Kewaunee just about dark, had a hotspot,puke/green dodger trolling a green fly 240ft back when the reel starts to sing. I made a mad dash, knocking over the ice chest, and a tackle box !! Sometimes I fish barefoot, as the boat has carpet. So here I am standing on cold ice and water fighting a 22lber and he's not being friendly, trying to steer the boat I step on a treble hook, so I'm trying to get line back and it is by now dark ! Finally I get him up to me, still hobbling around in cold ice water with a hook in my foot ! When I see how big he is I keep saying " take your time , don't bag him " Bagged him Twice !! Finally got him in and and sat there for about 15 minutes trying to get my breath and composure back ! God I love Salmon fishing !!

That's hilarious Red! Not that I can top it or anything but I've got a barefoot fishing story too. I netted a nice king and it was on the floor of the boat in the net. All of a sudden a lamprey comes slithering across the floor of the boat toward me. I couldn't jump back because I was against the back of my seat so I jumped over the lamprey landing on the salmon in the net. Whoop! out my feet fly from under me from the slippery fish, gashing a 3" rip in my foot from the hook in the fishes mouth. Now I'm lying flat on my back with the lamprey slithering all around like crazy. The fall knocked the wind out of me, my foot is bleeding all over, and I've got this ugly #$$ lamprey circling me like a shark. After I got my composure back you wouldn't have recognized the lamprey for what it was. I never fish bare foot anymore and always look at both sides of any netted fish closely. I'm sure glad nobody saw me. I'm not sure but I might have screamed like a little girl.

that is a good one ... hopefully you weren't hooked to bad in the foot, you ever watch Tred Barta on OLN - he was solo fishing for Tuna, I swear he almost passed out from the adreline rush after he finally landed his fish.

Let's see - Bottom Line - feet frozen, hook embeeded in foot, got a great fish that's all that counts.

Now that's a good one too - WingNut - if we bring a Lamprey in Jen will run out on to the bow sprit if she could.

OHHH , I love the Tred Barta episode where he's fishing solo because the crew bailed and he went any way , after fighting that tuna and beating the ever loving $hitt out of it he falls back on the floor exhausted. I have felt that way before also , not from a Tuna but a mean king can knock the devil out of you when your alone and trying to do everything your self. Also like the episode when thay have about 5 or 6 tuna in the boat and blood all over and fish sliding around on the deck , some people may not like him but I do , he's got additude ! Kind of like Uncle Ted.

I'm addicted to that show, my neighbors are from that area of Long Island - we are going to the canyons next year with Mya's brother. Can't wait!!! Check out the gallery under Zwa Tuna - that's from the Hudson Canyon.
