How come the LJ site only shows about 7 or 8 j-plugs and only with the rattles? I remember seeing them at the Novi Show and the had a wall full of J-plugs.

Excellent question Gregorio! I've asked myself many similar questions about LJ's site. An industry giant like Luhr Jensen ought to have a way cooler site.

Maybe they figure they sell so much they don't need to bother???

I know I saw a ton of J-Plugs on the wall at the shows also.

the other thing the rep told me - and I assume that he was a factory guy, but he might not have been ... was that all LJ products that were previously glow would be everglow - it's tough to tell itf that's true or not because it's diffcult to tell if you are buying 2005 LJ product.

Anyone hear the same thing?

I just picked up some new J-Plugs and they are marked "EVERGLO" so it is easy to tell.

I know that LJ has lots of patterns (Green Scaley being one) that they don't make unless they get a big order. Steves in Grand Haven will order a bunch of the Green Scaley and they will do a run.

Same with Silver/Chartruse down in St. Joe.

Since Rapala has purchased Luhr Jensen, probably won't have to worry about the web site matching the product on the street -- will be lucky if the baits that work even stay as color patterns. Rapala must want to get into the Great Lakes market bad... first Storm and now Luhr Jensen. Luhr Jensen doesn't make my favorite lures, but if the Storm debacle was any indication, they will ruin Luhr Jensen too.

If they're smart, Normark will bring me onboard. Who else preaches the virtues of the J-Plug more than me? We'll not only retain the current patterns, we'll also expand into some bold new schemes. Same for the Dodger. The Old Faithful snubber...OUT! There's no reason that the decades worth of name recognition couldn't be used to launch a new improved snubber either equal to or better than those put out by Wolverine and Fishlander. I'm certifiable and available for 6 figures Normark. Have your secretary call my secretary and we'll do shore lunch.

I don't know but my LJ days may be over, (or at least limited). Popped for a couple of the battery operated self lighting J plugs and they didn't last 3 trips before the battery apparently died.
Anyone else experience problems with these?

Charlie , try cleaning the contacts on the side of the j-plug , on mine they are the eyes, they get corroded ever so slightly and will not conduct electricity . I clean mine evry couple of use's with fine scotch brite pad or pencil eraser. I have several that are a couple years old and still work fine.

Rick: I had the same problem with the little flashing lights that I bought from Fishbone to put on my downriggers. After I scraped the contacts with a knife edge, they worked fine. If you just touch them up a little before each use, they should be fine.

I find it hard to believe that the comment by the infamous Winger went untouched(I'm certifiable)Now if there is anyone that I know is certifiable he is the man.

Good advise. I'll give it a try. At the 12 or 13 bux they charge I hope it works. I do know that I have to do the same thing with my camera flash. Kinda embarrassed I didn't think of it myself
