It will be interesting to check out the new Okuma.I see that is a Medium heavy and not that many guides for a 10" rod.I will be watching for one to check em out.

I sure hope it's a typo on the Okuma site. Did anyone else notice that the 10' roller rod is listed as one piece? Yikes! Where in the world would you stow it?

I use the Eagle Claw roller rods. Have had one reel seat break, and sometimes the wire comes off the end roller and lodges between the roller and the bracket that holds it to the rod. I'll try something else when these break.

Thought I would bring this to the top.I was at the Chicago show yesterday and had the opportunity to handle 2 different 10' roller rods. The Okuma is indeed a 2 piece not a 1 piece as their website indicates. It felt stiffer than my preference and it could use more rollers but for a mid priced rod it is most likely a good buy.The other was a surprise as not many rumors about Shimano coming out with a 10'er.I imagine that when a price is revealed on this one some may opt to convert other rods to rollers or go with the mid priced Okuma. The Talora is a med.heavy but it felt more med.I have a Yad and the feel was similar. The talora has a swivel tip also.I dont know what the pricing was as none of the reps knew.I hate that when you go to talk with some one that is repping a product and they dont know much about it.Another guy was there and said that they are supposed to start shipping to retailers this week.I also see that the 8'er they had there also had a swivel tip,so I dont know if this is new on all the talora rollers or optional.I do think that I am waiting to convert my rods until I see the price on these.

I talked to the Shimano rep at the Novi show yesterday. He said that Shimano was producing the Talora rod now in a 9' and a 10' Aftco roller model, both have swivel tips on them. He said that he was certain that some of the vendors at the Flint Valley Steelheaders show in Birch Run would be showing them. I have been using the 8' model for my inside wire diver rods and they are excellent with the exception that I wished they had the swivel tips.
