Thanks for the welcome guys! I'm usually the quiet type but get me talking about fishing and LOOK OUT!

The only excuse I can make for LJ is that in the day, Dipsies were ran on mono, which already has lots of shock absorbing stretch built in. The LJ snubbers were a little insurance. Lots of guys still use them though and don't have an issue with them.

Hey ohm - h2ohazard and I stayed in P.A. and they definetly were not into fisherman there - well obviously we were, fully rigged gradywhite was a little obvious. But I definitely got the feeling that they weren't big fans of fisherman, and the fisherman that I chatted to were very offended by it. It's too bad because it is a nice little town and convenient to walk in - but hey they aren't going to cater to fisherman or atleast treat you the same as everyone else - then why go there (beside the fishing being pretty darned good there).

ohm do u live in P.A? Just wondering why you meet with the city council?

You were asking about slippin in the west side - FLATRATE and I stay near each other - I keep the boat in Ludington, MI ... at Harbor View Marina and for a 32' boat I beleive you'd have to slip in a 38' foot slip all though there are non vacancies but I beleive it's about $2500 a season for a 38' slip.

I stay in Manistee at Sengs Marina , its 1700 for a slip for a 30 foot boat , I think it is 1900 for a 40 slip but not sure. I used to stay at Harbor Village in Manistee and it was 2200 for a 35 foot slip and 3000 for a 40 slip, but almost all are sold and the rest are rented. Almost all the marinas in the Manistee area are about full , most people have to get thier name on a waiting list , sometimes you get a slip right away and sometimes you have to wait awhile. There are normally always open transient slips at the City marina unless it is a tournament or ho;iday weekend and then you need to get there early or have a reservation.

Tiara 3600 & FlatRate
No I just own a small lot on Sand rd. that I use to have a trailer on, long been dilapidated &
removed, still am able to attend their meetings 1 or 2 a yr. just to see what shaking. As I said
earlier that been a sore spot between local fishermen & local land lobbers, & transient’s boaters
& fishermen.
Slip availability & price seem to be about par on either side of the State. the availability is the
main concern with all the building taking place in P.A. if U don’t buy a fancy dan condo no slip for U an as time passes that may be the only way of having a slip in P.A. Other then the State docks &
there’s talk of the City making that a Municipal dock what a disaster that will turn out to be.

Th Flint Steelheaders used to have a 2 day outting in P.A. and we have a member that lives in town and even he couldn't get the " City Fathers" to see what we have to offer . The Steelheaders was one of many groups that put the money up for the fish cleaning station in P.A. , now they want to charge us to use it and lock it up most of the time , no coming in after a late evening fishing trip to clean your fish , they would hassel members that arrived early at the parking lot and ticket them and yet they had no where to go to wait to launch. We are no longer having our big outting there , we figure we spent in the nieghborhood of 7500 to 10,000 dollars in the weekend in gas , ice , food , tackle , motel rooms and cottages and camping space and marine repiars , we now will spend that money some where else. Most of the town merchants were very good to us , it was the local police , gov. officials and city manager that didn't seem to care if we stayed or not. We are now going to South Haven and Grand Haven , both towns have opened their arms to us and are helping make arrangments for dockage , rooms and supplies , they realize the amount of money the fishermen spend in thier community. We never had an incident in town either , no arrest's or fights or any trouble like that , we always cleaned up after ourself's and tried to keep things cival and friendly . Too bad to as P.A. is a beautifull town and has a lot to offer. Hopefully things will change for the better in the future.

Rick, I couldn’t be in more total agreement with you about the fish cleaning station that you
people donated to the City & they’ve made a shamble of it almost a humorous situation if not so
sad a mess out of it. When the grinder was still in operation & broke down one day one of the
elected officials had the Audacity to blame the fisherman & or me for throwing gravel in the fish
grinder, just sit back and imagine some of the finer four letter words that erupted from Mr. (me)
Congeniality, with that slanderous accusation thrown at me. A lot of the locals also hope for a
change for the better. Do you know of a boat called the “bounty hunter” that’s either in the Flint
or Blue Water Chapter, the fly’s I bought from him this season sure worked good hope I run into
him this coming season.

Greg , the only boat I know that makes flys close to that name is " Trophy Hunter" and he makes the "Fish Fly" , if this is the person he is a mmber of the Flint Chapter , I work just up the road from his dad { dad owns and runs the boat} , Jason {son } is the one that make the flys. Have never run his flys but they look good , I run mostly the Purple Taco or Spanish Fly , they all look about the same and I don't know if many people could tell the difference just by looking at them.

Yep: that it Trophy Hunter, The Fly color that I liked best was the blue/ green one. The hell with
what I like it’s what the fish like & they seemed to like that combo (a W/G glo hochie mama & that
fly) the best. The kid (Jason) gave the Ph # but I misplaced it , if some how you can get the # I ‘d
be grateful if U could forward it me . Thanks
Norm

I will try this again , I posted it once but some how I must of messed it up. The only person I know with a boat named close to that is "Trophy Hunter " and Jason makes the Fish Fly , it is his dads boat but Jason makes and sell the flies and he is from the Flint Chapter. I have never run them as I run Purple Taco fly's the most and Spanish Fly's second , they ALL look good and I don't think most people can tell the difference between quality flys as they all have about the same color combos. and material. I run both of these flys because I fish on the Purple Taco Pro team and Curt makes an excellent fly and is a friend of mine. I also have a friend that makes the Spanish Fly and he gave me a few to try a few years ago and they worked so good that I still run them. This last year wasn't really a strong attractor/fly bite for me though , mag. spoons seemed the hottest most of the year.
WOW , I guess I really did screw this up , sorry for the double post
I think I have Jason's number and I will see if I can dig it up .
I see what I did wrong , I didn't see the second page at the botton , it was kind of blurred out on my screen.
