I'm only familar with west coast style mooching - stationart or drifting - over kelp beds or current breaks. How do you mooch on Lake Ontario?

here on LO the 782 is used the same way as stationary or drifting on the west coast just let out the lure to your desired depth set the anti-reverse and drag put in the rod holder and load the rod. Sit back and wait. Simple but very effective and a blast to fight fish on lite line. P.S. occasionally you will have to bring up all rigger,s and clear line,s if it is a major fish of any proportion size 25 or over cause until he tire"s he goes where he want's

that sounds like a blast - wonder if anyone is doing that on Lake Michigan?
