Fishing remains excellent. My local friends and I have been assisting "out of town" friends of friends (bowhunters, etc) get their fish. 5 man limit on Thursday evening, 7 man on Friday morning, 8 man on Saturday morning. I could not fish yesterday, but the guys got their fish again.

Weird year in '08..high water has forced us to spots that normally only produce for a few days per season, but continue to hold fish in good numbers. The crowds are off the hook. We counted 31 boats in one area on Friday, and there was triple that amount each day on the weekend.

Carolina rigged floaters using 3/4-1oz. egg sinkers w/ 24-30" leaders have worked best. Color doesn't seem to matter as much as being in the right spot. We arrived Saturday morning at 5:15AM, but could not fish until 7:10AM. Standing in the water in the dark sucks, but we wanted to secure that spot...and it worked out ok...as I had my 4 in about 50 minutes.

Probably looking at the peak of the run sometime this week, but good fishing should continue through the end of the month.

BTW...all of you coming to the Smackdown will be happy to know that the 2003 class of fish are ranging from 19-23" this year...
