Fished the Steelheaders tourney Sat. in Harbor Beach aboard the "Sick Time" piloted by Capt. Craig MacPhee along with his friend Brian, We had a great time!!
We ended up in 6th place (out of 30 boats)with a total of 8 fish. 5 salmon and 3 lakers.
All this considering that we didn't catch a fish for the first 4 hours of the tournament!! The kings ranged from 3# up to 7# and the biggest laker went 9+#.
My new "fishing" watch called the bite almost down to the minute!! The watch said they should bite in a certain time frame....and they did!!
These looked to be younger aged fish, maybe 2 year olds.
They were filled with smelt....I think the Huron fishery is going to be better than people think this year.
The Ridgebacks and sliders produced well and our big King came off a dipsey with Purple Taco fly. We fished 60-100 FOW.
Nott a bad way to start the year off for sure.....
Thanks again Craig for a great time!!
Best,
