The state of Michigan plans on cutting 1 million coho (40% reduction) from stocking in 2008 due to budget constraints. An effort to raise money to support the rearing of coho by the state of Michigan is underway. Donations have already been made by local salmon clubs and here is another opportunity to give while having fun. A benefit PRO/AM format tournament is being held on Sat. August 26 in Winthrop Harbor, IL to raise money to supplement 2008 coho stocking in Lake Michigan.
