Has anybody tried the Big Al's Fish Flash? We picked a couple up at the GR Fishing show... Anybody have luck or feedback on them?

I have one that I will try when I get going. With BB swivels on each end will it whip a fly? I think a meat rig would work good behind it.

I think we have one as well - I'm interested to try them, but I beleive they are not meant ot impart any action on the lure - simply spin. flash, and attract.

Bob from Bob's Outdoors told me exactly what Greg said at the Novi show. Only an attractor, not meant to impart action on a lure. He said they work very well.

I think next year I'll design a rig that uses a cyalume stick surrounded by reflective tape inside a flasher...but maybe someone is already doing that...

I had good luck with them 2 years ago. I was running spoons 30" behind the Fish Flash. Tried them a few times last year without success. Personally I would not spend the $11+ to buy one, but I do have a few from tackle bags at tournies.

Greg, is correct, they impart no action to the lure. I have seen camera footage of a fly lying dead behind a Fishflash and a big king came up and whacked it.

That's the way I understand it as well, they don't inpart any action on the bait, which also means it's a no drag. The guy at the GR Show suggested trying them off full cores... I've never put anything but a clean spoon off a core (last year was my first year with any core and I had good succsess) and I may try that later in the year.

I run them mostly off of divers with either a spoon (Sutton Flutter) or a clean meat rig. My favorite one is the red taped model on clear plastic. I paint the clear side black with flat black paint. I ussually bring out afer the morning bite slows..
