Spooling cable

I unspooled about 4' of cable from the spool the cable came on and stripped off the coating. This cable really twists as you may know. I've also unspooled the old wire from the digitrol. The question is, are there any tricks to keep this cable from twisting when I spool from the cable spool to the Cannon digitrol spool? I fear this could become a mess.

Thanks...
