I'm trying to find those of you who have rigged your Lunds with downriggers and rod holders and are happy with the end result.

I have an 18 Ft Fisherman and do not want to re-invent the wheel when it comes to rigging.

Thanks in advance!

My last boat was a Lund 17 ProV. I used a 2x8 mounted to the boat with Eagle Feet. Worked fine for years. I ran 2 Walker riggers, one off each corner. The RAM holders were used for walleye fishing. For Dipsy Divers, I used Salty dual clamps mounted to the trolling board adjusted so rods would be horizontal to to the water. Looked kinda strange, but worked well. Especially like the way the Saltys grip and release the rods.

The Eagle feet were mounted to oak 2x2 lumber thru bolted with 4 1/4x20 stainless bolts per side. The trolling board itself was just a piece of treated lumber.

I know you don't want to re invent the wheel but you have asked the rite question at the rite time
before starting to rig the boat

first we need to know what kind of fishing you are going to do , how many will be on your regular crew ,ect ect ect.

seems to me we all set out to do one kind of fishing and end up in a different set of circumstances later
for most of us any way

for this reason we usually set up boats with a track system/trolling bar. Cost is a little more but is easy to change up as our needs and fishing change .

Also when we trade boats we can take most of the stuff with us to the new boat with out leaving the old boat with a bunch of holes in it

nice, clean, versitle, functional,

post some pictures as you go along cant wait to see how you decide to set it up

thanks Coz, for posting the pic. all of the riggers and the marine antenna are on tongue and groove mounts that I made on a bridgeport mill. there are a couple thumb screws that lock the stuff down. after fishing .I slide the marine ant. off the track and into the starboard storage compartment. did"nt want to drill up the gunnales with a bunch of holes. I also made a suction cup mount for my gps antenna that removes also and stores in the glove box. let me know if you want some more close up pics.
