9.9hp 4 Stroke Evinrude

I have a 1999 9.9hp kicker that quit today so I need some help to find the problem. The motor has been stalling at will all year after it looses ball pressure. It will run for 20 to 60 minutes then the thing will stall unless you get to the ball fast. The motor use to give a warning by slowly fading out so there was time to pump the ball. Today it started to just quit with no warning. We would pump the ball and it would start again. Well the last time it was done. Any suggestions guys. The connector to the motor was replaced this Spring. Thanks for any help.

after (trying) a KNOWN good tank and hose assembly the next logical step would be to replace the fuel pump
i am thinking you need a new fuel pump

After year of minor problems and more issues this year the motor finally works like a new machine with a new fuel pump. Thanks for the help. I hope takes care of the cold weather slow starts.

lets talk about hard starts when its cold

there was a sevice update for those motors that included a stronger choke spring

ALTHOUGH THIS PART IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE

you can fix the cold start problem with another rap of spring tension on the choke shaft
take a look at it and see if you can see the spring and picture wraping it around the shaft one additional turn to make it close tighter
