Fished the Matthews bait tournament at the same location that Cantgetenough fished last night and ended up taking second with 17.65lbs and winning the big fish contest at 6.75lbs. Fished dipsey and spoons back 70 ft at 2.2 mph. Fishing was tough for most fishermen out there today with the may fly hatch. We struggled to get 9 in the box, but I did hear a few boater with better success further north. Did have a hot color but the 3 best spoons that caught the majority of fish were gin and tonic, chicken wing, and blueberry muffin.

Mike,
I tried to find the other spoon I told you about but I can't find it. I bought it at the ultimate fishing show and I think it was a special paint job. That's a good place to pick up some spoons that are specialty painted.

I just want to thank Steve and Mike again for your late report last night. Matthews bait did a nice job on the tournament and hopefuuly we get a larger turn out next year. I think they had 13 or 15 boats entered. They're also supposed to post the standings and photos.

Way to go BOB!!! We were hoping and pulling for you all day! I hear you just missed a couple big ones at the boat that would've won everything for you!!! We wanted an EA somewhere on top of that tournament. You made us all proud. Next year we will turn it into an EA tournament for sure. We will have several teams there! I gotta go by Mattews tomorrow and get a couple of those moonshine yellow tails. I lost both of them and they've been the ticket late nights. Thanks again Corey for the moonshine tips! The other moonshines have worked but the yellowtail has been the best so far.

Steve

I also fished north of West Sister on saturday. A very slow day for us. Pulled spoons and couldn't get a good system to work. Some came high and some low. We ended the day with 12 walleyes. The FPRPH was a disappointing 0.2, not good. Some of the walleyes puked up stomach fulls of mayflies. Trolling through the hatches keeps you busy cleaning rods. The smatched mayflies in the cockpit sure gets the boat dirty.

We ended the trying the gravel bed but storm warnings cut that short.

Nice talking to you a couple times on Saturday Bob...man was it tough for our crew out there.

We ended up with 3...yes...3 for 5 hours. Egads...did I mention that I'M NO DRIFTER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah well..thanks to my buddy Steve for the trip. Had a great time regardless of the fishing, and I thoroughly enjoyed the 35mph run back to the dock!

It was nice talking to you as well. I used to be a drifter back a long time ago. I don't miss it! I tried running crawlers out there as well as spoons but I couldn't get anything to go on them. I hate using worms, all they do is mess up the boat.
