Sorry to sound like a skeptic but every time in hear some thing like this the first thing that comes to mind is this is another excuse for them to collect more tax or another tax some where in the near future .

The link within the article doesn't work, but I don't look at limiting tournies as being necessarily a bad thing. Some bodies of water get pounded by tournies almost non-stop. The number of tournies has grown exponentially over the past 20 years or so and at some point it has to stop.

As for tourneys The Mississippi River around La Crosse is a prime example of getting pounded. Last year La Crosse hosted at least 10 bass tournaments,a Wed. night bass league,a walleye tournament a week end , and a walleye league on Tue. if I remember correctly.
It was a bass tourney that had a large fish kill that set this in motion.
The bass around La Crosse have a "nervous" condition from being caught and released so much.
