This thread discusses the Content article: Grand Haven Charter Boat Industry Economics 2005

This is excellent data. We need to keep track of the economic impact fishing has on the State of Michigan. Here in Manistee, fishing plays a big role in our local economy. This type of data is very useful as we lobby for municipal facility upgrades.

Howard, if you contact Chuck Pistis at the Grand Haven MSU/Michigan Sea Grant office (Phone: 616-846-8250, email: pistis@msu.edu), he can probably generate similar information for Manistee. He told me that he had previously gathered info for Ludington too. Chuck is really committed to helping the sportfishing industry communicate with local and state government.

Tom
