I know there was some talk of a fish fry after the tournament. I thought I'd let you know there are a few restaurants in the area that will cook up the fish. Trapper's is the closest to the marina and does a pretty nice job, you get soup or salad, fries or onion rings and the fish for 5.99, however this isn't the nicest place. The Stadium Club is at Bolles harbor and will do the same thing for 5.99 and it’s a little nicer. Michigan Bar and Grill this is probably the nicest place to do this, you get fries and a salad for 7.99. The charter boats send a lot of clients to these places and they do a nice job. If you need anymore info let me know.

Good idea Matt, makes an interesting option for those that will be in town for a few days. Any idea what kind of crowd they can handle?

Stadium club is pretty nice. It could handle 30-40 of us without issue. I was planning on suggesting that place for "after fishing" activities if folks wanted to get away from the inevitably hungry mosquitos that hang around this part of the world. They have live music on occasion, and I've also heard some "not so great" Erie-style karaoke there too. Parking lot is pretty big, and it's really close to the highway (exit 11). There is also a tackle shop on the same road, and for those of you planning on using Bolles harbor as your launch point, it is the same exit off I-75. Food I've had there wasn't exactly fantastic, but who the hell cares when you are starving after a long day of fishing?

In fact, that area would be where I would suggest out-of-town folks look for hotels and such. I'm planning on staying up there (Monroe) Friday and Saturday nights.

I think Greg is planning on bringing the fryer. I guess if the crapola hit the fan, and for some reason we couldn't cook outdoors, we could always go to plan B.

Just got off the phone with the Toledo Beach Marina. Here's the information:

Transient slips are $1.00 per foot per night. This includes use of the launch ramp, swimming pool, and bath houses. Slips have water & 30A electrical service. Reservations are not required (per TBM), but probably wouldn't hurt either (per me). He said he's never turned a boat away.

Edit: There's plenty of room for parking rigs on the gravel areas.

I know Trappers has taken 40 plus people and so has Stadium Club. We've taken large multi boat trips there for dinner many times. As the date gets closer we can make a decision on where to go and set something up with one of the restaurants, they'd be more then happy to take the large groups.

If I'm not running a charter that day I would be more then happy to help run that part of tournament as I have done it before.

I think the plan will be to have a cookout in the afternoon on Saturday (3:00-ish) at TBM. The idea being if guys want to go back out in the evening (STRONGLY SUGGESTED LOL) they'll have time to eat, socialize, then go whack more fish.

Assuming you haven't kept your DNR limit for the day already

I'll probably be at the Stadium Club on Friday evening...either that or the TBM bar with Little Dandy!

In June, I'm usually still perchin'on the gravel, waiting for someone to volunteer to paint the bottom. Sounds like I'm going to have to get my act together a little earlier this spring.
