If you're a new member ... Welcome Aboard! If you're not all that new there is still some great information to take advantage of.

There are a few things you should check out and do once you are logged in.

1. Post a introduction in the EA Lounge, there are lots of great folks here; so let us know a little about you.

Click Here to make your Introductory post

2. If you're a BOAT US/West Marine member you can get a discounted membership or renewal - check out

Boat US Membership Info

3. If you want any Educated Angler gear you can check out our store at:

Live to Fish Store

4. Check out the fishing reports area - as this is an important part of sharing information - don't be a person that just checks out reports but never contributes. Post your reports, whether they are good or bad, you never know your help may just make a great day for another member and that's what a community is all about.

Posting a fishing reports is easy - just go to the Great Lakes Forums and choose your target lake and post a new topic - it's that easy.

A few guidelines to include in your fishing report post:

Port Name:
Date:
Weather Conditions:

and any other information you would like including hot presentations, # of fish caught, # of hits, etc...

5. If your posting a picture on the message boards please make sure the picture is no larger then -

700 x 700 pixels
250 KB in size

Remember we still have people with dial up.

Filename should have no spaces or funky characters - name the picture something like t3pt6k000001.jpg or something along those lines. Usually what your camera names them will be fine - but remember other people may have the same camera with the same naming of pictures so it might already exist on the site.

If you don't have a way to make your picture smaller post it in the gallery which is free for all members.

Gallery Help

The gallery will automatically handle resizing your photographs and the you can just share the link to your gallery. This is a fully functional gallery - that is free - it will do slide shows, you can make unlimited albums, you can add titles, and descriptions.
