Would a Okuma CV 45L be a good reel for fishing with copper wire?

Your capacity is limited with a 45.The cv55l will hold more than enuogh to get you deep.

I guess it would depend on just how much copper you have intentions on running on that 45....but Coz is right on the money, the 55 is a better choice IMO...

I have a 45L with 150' of 45# and plenty of 25# mono backing on it. I also have a 55L with 300' on it, again with plenty of 25# mono backing. I'm sure the 45 would hold 200' but you might have to go to braid for backing (so just use a 55). The 55 would probably hold 400' (maybe more?) but might require braid for backing.
