I am in for this year as well. Hopefully Paul can make it and I can jump aboard with him again. If not, I will need to find another spot. I'm more than will to barter with a ride on my boat at some point during the season.

All right, boys.. At this point, I am tenatively in. If things stay status quo, I'll be alone and need a crew. I will also need walleye 101 since I really don't have much of a clue how to catch the durn things!! Sure hope to get together with ya'll again!!

I met with Little Dandy and Roamer last Sunday for breakfast to hash out a few details and throw around some ideas for the Walleye Smackdown. Hal, Mike, and Jen have done a great job with the flyer, which will be available at the various Sport/Fish/Boat shows and seminars over the next couple months, and it's great to see Toledo Beach Marina being willing to host us again, as well as the good guys at Mathews's Bait coming on board for '08 as well.
We are open to suggestions, so feel free to post up anything that you may like to see done differently (within reason of course ) and we'll take all comments into consideration.
We hope to make the '08 Walleye Smackdown a wonderful experience for everyone that can attend. As those who were here last year can attest, it was a darn good time.
I've yet to stop by the Comfort Inn and inquire about the Fisherman's Special (last year was $50.00 per night) but I wanted to let everyone know that across the street there is also an Amerihost Inn if desired. The Comfort Inn was glad to have our group last year, so hopefully we'll be welcomed back!
We had approximately 40 individuals show up last year at one point or another, and it was a fabulous time (once the wind and storms were done).
As Tom posted at the beginning of this thread, feel free to PM or email any of us for more information.
Looking forward to seeing all of you very soon..
My best..

1) Follow the pack. This goes against my better judgement, but the more boats we had around us, the more eyes we caught! There's nothing like slaying the eyes in the middle of a pack of 300 boats on a bright sunny day. Erie is unreal...
2) Spoons off mini divers and jets. The little black, pink and silver one we had was the best. Probably caught 1/3 of our fish on that spoon alone. Think it was probably a Silver Streak - one Mull gave me.
3) If you start catching white bass, turn around! The whities seemed to hang on the edges of the walleye school we were working.

At this point I'm about 80% sure that I will be bringing the SeaCat down for the '08 Smackdown. The boat is a 21' center console that can handle 4 anglers great -- right now I think one spot is spoken for, but still have 2 spots open if anyone needs a ride.
One warning though, it my preference to drift and cast for walleye over trolling. Sorry, but I would much rather feel the hit and fight them on light tackle. Now if there is no wind to push the boat... will have all of the tackle along for trolling too.
Would like to get a room reserved and maybe a slip (but could launch each day too).
BFG or Little Dandy... any updates? Has been nearly a month since BFG posted.
