rubberband sliders

I am interested in running sliders this year. I have heard of using rubberbands for the release. This year I will fish alone alot so I'm limited to just two poles on the down rigger. So puting two spoons on one pole helps. Can you use a rubberband as locking slider, and if you can how do you rig it thanks

I use the rubberband method all the time to fix my sliders. Its very easy;

1. put your main line out and down 5-?? feet.
2 next attach your slider and double hitch the band under the swivel and then on top of the swivel.
3. pull tight and then i usually hitch it again on the bottom of the swivel and break the band.


That's really all there is too it. One point to make sure you do not do, DO NOT RUN YOUR SLIDER WITHIN 6-8 FT ABOVE A ROTATING FLASHER!!!! You'll have a huge mess!
