Last Saturday I went to my 3rd Grand Haven seminar and I thought this one was the best. They were skipping lots of the basic's and gave us some real good information and pointers. Capt. Mark talked about what to look for when buying a used boat was sweet. I have never owned a fiberglass boat so for me some of the tips could save me a bundle in the future. Some of the highlights for me were.

-How Willis fishes the nets north of Grand Haven
-Brian Butts said something that stuck with me ( Put the sun on the back side of the lures ) which means troll west in the AM and east in the PM
-Capt. Mark information on boat survey's could save someone some big bucks in the future.
-Thanks to Dreamweaver for the flashers, flies and spoons that came in the goodie bag.

I will be picking up some of there top lures this weekend at the Grand Rapids show. How did the rest of you guys like the seminar?

They gave out the inside information this weekend.I liked the presentation by Paul Jensen on the nets and
Brian and Willis on fishing in and around the piers. They
actually showed the baits that really work.
Willis will be doing another Seminar on April 23
for the GH Steelheaders at the VFW hall in Grand Haven.
Also Bill Bale showed out in the hallway how to tie
the knots he uses with copper.

I liked all of it , I think we all may have already knew most of what they talked about to some extent but they put it into a different perspective and it makes you think about it differently.I liked the net presentation along with Brian and Willis and Bill's lure thoughts and how to's along with the info. about the copper , lure speeed and direction and also good info. on the boat surveys and inspection. The best parts is no one presentation was real long so that they were able to keep everyone intrest through out the day. Also winning a rod and rel combo was pretty sweet as well. The best past though was just getting out and visiting with everyone at the seminar and at Greg/Tom/Jen's before hand. Thanks to the Outdoorsman and all of the other sponsors and contributers for thier support of the Grand Haven Offshore event.
