Forecasted big cold front had me a bit worried about the weekend river fishing, as we also had a bunch of rain on Thursday around here and to the West. Hit the Fort Meigs area Friday after work and managed 2 jacks in the first hour, but then the storms rolled in...waited 'em out on shore, then 45 minutes later went back out and got my other 2 in about 10 minutes. Smallish jacks in the 16-18" range.

Saturday morning found us with rising water (like..an inch an hour+) and stiff W/SW breeze at 25mph gusting to 35-40. The pressure had also dropped 7 points overnight. All that adds up to bad fishing conditions.

I managed one jack in the first hour, and 1 lost at the net. The other 4 guys I was with had zilch. Fish definitely had moved around, and those in the area we were fishing had lock-jaw for sure.

Frustrated, I headed for home at 10:30am. I'll fish harder when the conditions are more prime for good fishing. Should be good later this week, just in time for me to go out of town for 3 days.

Maumee Tackle tourney is this Sunday. I'll be fishing it again with my buddy Chris (Duckdude) hoping to improve on our 3rd place finish from last year.
