I finally made it back to the water today with two buddies. We ran to the plant and trolled south from there. We finished 14 for 19, but tossed back one reallly small coho and three lakers. We kept two kings just above and just below 10# and an 8# brown, the rest were typical coho. All fish but one came on spoons. Best water was 40-50. There was a temp break in there of a few degrees and the fish seemed to be there. Northport Nailers in Orange Ice (41) were on FIRE taking 10 of our bites. The slide diver rig 25' behind the diver and 50 back was hot. Core was dead until the last few fish. Riggers 30 down took a few. In the end, Slide Divers back 50 and 70 took 8 bites, rigger took 4 bites all on a fixed slider, Flatline took 3 bites, 3 color took one, 5 color took 2 and 8 color took 1 bite. One of the flatline bites was on a reef runner and the rest were all Nailers. Orange Ice (41) took 10 bites, Evil Amil (30) took 4 bites, Superior Sunset (35) took 2 bites, Roughy (65) took 1 bites, and Bloody Clown (86) took 1 bite. It was cloudy almost the whole trip until the last half hour the sun started peaking out. Tried flies without success again, but a few of the coho were packed with bugs. Water temp ranged from almost 50 down to 45 where we caught fish.

Well that sounds pretty solid. Thanks for the help today, my BIL & his friend ended up going 5-6. 3 Ho's, and 2 lakers down toward the power plant in the depths that you recommended....Thanks for the tip.

it really was a perfect day. flat calm out, fish biting and the sun even came out just before we had to run in.

HJ I think we saw your BIL on the way in. If they were in the Alaskan. Duck boat green. I think we passed them. They should have gone another 5 miles south. Glad they got into them.

Salmonhead,
Yah that was probably us you went by. Were you running with a second boat? This was our first time out of South Haven and the first time out this year. We were happy to pull in a couple fish. We should have made the journey down further to where you guys were. We thought about it but didn't pull the trigger. Thanks.
