Took advantage of the nice weather forecast yesterday and fished the river. Started at the spot at which Duckdude and I had fished the tournament on Sunday. Didn't touch a walleye for 2 hours, but did manage to battle some incredibly large buffalo carp.

Decided to hit another spot downstream that I know typically holds fish late in the run and landed my first walleye at 10:20am. Had to work for them, but I finished off my limit at 12:40pm.

Very light fishing pressure, but that is not surprising as it seems the majority of the fish have left the river for the year. Amazing how fast that happens. One of my fish was a young female that I neglected to notice was a female prior to getting back to the truck. She was still packed pretty hard, so maybe there is some spawning yet to be done.

Regardless, 2008 has been one of my best years ever for the river run, as I've cleaned 42 walleyes to date, averaging just under 3 fish per trip (including several skunks in the mix).

Looking forward to hitting the lake at some point this weekend aboard the Little Dandy with Mike and Roamer. Should be a great year on the big pond.
