a question for frank, i splashed my boat at the launch for the first time this year and backed away from the launch and tuned it forward and had no forward gear. it ran ok in reverse but nothing forward. i run an older 25' pursuit and i was wondering if this will be a big job or something i can look at myself? usually i just make things worse by trying but if this is not too bad i might try? thanks tom

It would be a safe guess to say the control cables are bad . They all need to be changed based on the year of the boat .
1 steering cable
Both shift cables
And throttle cable
I would guess the transom bracket shift cable has let loose or broke
But for safety they all should be changed to insure safe control of the boat
